…Well this is your chance!

Imagine entering a dark vault & suddenly a web of lasers come to life. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to navigate through the web of lasers as quickly as possible, hitting your targets along the way to open The Vault.

If you break a laser, time is added to your score. The person with the fastest time becomes The Ultimate Spy. You can play solo or in two-player mode, with various levels of expertise. Watch all the action on the big screen as your friends and family attempt their mission.

The Vault Laser Maze is fantastic fun for all the family, open everyday from 10am till midnight. It’s just like the movies. Come and try – now open at Namco Funscape, County Hall, London – next to McDonalds on the Southbank.

It was great to have such an amazing turn out for the event (despite the torrential rain & tube strikes!), and to see so many enjoying the entertainment on offer here at Namco, with Madhen putting on an awesome performance!

As the guests came in thick & fast, there was our usual complement of champagne & superb catering from Food Glorious Food, with free drinks all round – and the night just got better & better!…

The Laser Maze Challenge™ is a new and different attraction.  It is an interactive timed event, where the lower the time the better!  You enter the mysterious Maze and as you cross the starting point, the Laser Maze pops to life and the room ahead of you is filled with brilliant green lasers radiating from the walls.  The object is to navigate the Maze without breaking a laser beam.

The Namco Events Team exhibited at Confex once again this year, this time in it’s newEast Londonhome, Excel!

The annual events expo was a big success attracting around 8’000 visitors to the show, with many stopping by the new Namco stand for Champagne & to find out more about Namco Events!

It looks like Paul won a Gold Medal for team Namco at Confex this year….

Let’s hope Andrew has as much luck in 2012!

 Friday, 9th March saw Namco Funscape welcome Rizzle Kicks to the venue for a morning of fun and games.  Taking a break from recording hits such as ‘Mama Do the Hump’ and ‘Down With the Trumpets’ the boys tested their driving skills on our famous bumper cars!

Huw Stephens (Radio 1 DJ) joined the Rizzle Kicks and used our bumper cars as excellent preparation in the quest to pass their driving test………. from what we saw lets hope they have a few more lessons before the big day!

 The Rizzle Kicks were also kind enough to pose for a photo with a group of school children, who couldn’t wait to get back to school and tell all their friends!

Best of luck to the Rizzle Kicks and Huw Stephens on taking your driving tests, we will be sure to look both ways when crossing the road!

Namco Funscape were host to Lord Sugar, Karren Brady and Nick Hewer as they tasked the two finalists (James McCcullagh & Zara Brownless) to design a new video game with the help of all the finalist from the series.

If you were one of over 4 million people who tuned in to watch the final on BBC 1, you may have noticed that the briefing took place on our bumper car track, you may even have spotted one or two of your favourite games machines in the background!

Fresh from their push for the Christmas No.1, Orinoco, Tobermory,Wellingtonand Great Uncle Bulgaria popped in for an afternoon of bumps and games at Namco Funscape.

‘Wombling Merry Christmas’, which originally charted at number 2 in 1974, is being released following a great reaction to their Glastonbury performance this summer.  The December release will see the Wombles go head-to-head with The X Factor for the much coveted Christmas No.1

Taking a break from the bumper cars, Uncle Bulgaria said: ‘’I don’t watch much television myself, I leave that to the young Wombles, but I hear The X Factor is jolly popular. However, W comes before X, let’s see what people think of The W Factor!

He added: ‘’We wish everyone a Wombling Merry Christmas.’’

 The venue was transformed to showcase the newest developments in the games industry, including Super Street Fighter IV (arcade ed) and Tekken Tag Tournament 2, in doing so raising over £6000 for charity.

Friday saw 300 industry and press contacts get to grips with the new releases and some exciting Rival Matches played out, including Indigo Pearl vs Premier PR, Playstation TV vs Inside Xbox and of course Capcom vs Namco!

We opened the doors to the public on Saturday allowing gamers the chance to experience the new titles, and try their luck in head-to-head competitions.   More importantly guests had the chance to meet two industry icons, Harada-san (producer of the Tekken series) and Ono-san (producer of the Street Fighter series).
